On September 9, 2016 at NEN the ISO 55001 Certification Scheme was presented. The certification Scheme states what requirements certification bodies must meet and how they should carry out ISO 55001 certification. It is expected that the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) will ratify the certification scheme in the coming months. Certification bodies that meet the certification can then be accredited by the Accreditation Council in order to issue ISO 55001 certificates.
In anticipation of this Dekra, Difam and Kiwa allready use the certification scheme. During the meeting, the first six ISO 55001 asset management certificates bearing the logo of the NEN certification scheme were awarded to: Enexis, the Province of Noord-Holland, Exploitatie Maatschappij Komfort, Gebr. Van Kessel Onderhoud, Zebra Gasnetwerk en Vermeulen Benthuizen.
Moreover, there are also certification bodies in the Netherlands, such as Lloyd's Register and Bureau Veritas that issue ISO 55001 certificates under UKAS (UK) accreditation. This is a valid option as well.
